Telford is a small saddle tank shunter. He works at the big station (Euston) as a station pilot.

Biography Edit

Telford was sent to the BR during a mixup with him and one of his cousins called Henbury. When he got there, he was ready and eager to work. He wasn't allowed beyond the signals and anytime he attempted to pass the signals, he was sent back to his shed, leaving the other engines to get their own trains. In 1927, he annoyed Scotsman to the point where he pushed Telford in front of him and raced along the main line. And as a result of his brief excursion beyond his boundaries, Telford longed to see more of the world and become a part of it and became jealous of the bigger engines for having the chance to pull trains. In 1951, he was present in the yard when Ivatt ran out of control with his trucks and derailed in a field outside the station. He fetched the Breakdown Train and rushed to Ivatt's aid and he helped to clean up the dead trucks and brung Ivatt back to the yard when he was re-railed. As a reward for his actions, Telford was given three new coaches, William, Christopher and Wilbert and was given the responsibility of running Branch Line Trains when other engines couldn't, much to his delight. Telford loved this and had many adventures during his first days on the line. After a compliment by his driver went to his smokebox, Telford became cocky, believing that he no longer needed a person to control him. The next morning, he found himself moving on his own after someone had meddled with his controls, but he was unable to stop and crashed into a siding. He was then sent to the Works to be mended. When Telford returned to the branch line, he began looking after the passenger trains with the diesel railcar twins Chitteran and Bubble.

Personality Edit

He's cheeky, sarcastic, some times cynical, and mischevious. Although he can be all of these things, he's still a hard worker and a good helper. He loves teasing the others, especially the bigger engines, such as Scotsman and on occasion brags about his superiority, but is always brought back to earth in due course by anyone willing to correct him, especially The Controller and his coaches, William, Christopher and Wilbert. He may act arrogant but he's very down to earth with the other engines, such as: Jackson, Tobias, David, Denver, Don, Doug, Alfred and Judy etc.

Livery Edit

Telford is blue/black with gold-ish lining around his saddle tanks.
